This summer feels like it has been hotter than ever, especially in the south with added on humidity. Yesterday, I believe the on heat index it had reached to 104 degrees! If you’re someone like me, it is difficult to wear a full face of make-up in this kind of heat. It’s probably best not wear makeup when the temperatures are ridiculously high anyway because it can be really damaging to your skin. Tip: Do not cake your face, let your skin breathe and soak in the summer heat. Your skin can really benefit from not wearing make up everyday.
There are ways you can still get that summer glam with these four products.
- Primers: Primers are perfect for the summer. You should prime your skin before adding any layer of makeup. The job of a primer is to protect your skin pores from becoming full with product. It also makes your makeup product go on smoother and last longer. One of my favorite primers ever is the “Photo Finish” primer by Smashbox. I have used both of the “Photo Finish” primers but the primer water is absolutely perfect for the summer. It gives a refreshing feeling to your face and it is very light. Smashbox’s Photo Finish Primer Water can be found at your local Ulta or Sephora .
- BB Creams: BB Creams are basically tinted facial moisturizers with SPF. They can replace foundations in the summer time because they’re so much lighter but it can still serve as it’s purpose. What I love about BB Creams is that the products contain SPF, which protects your skin from dangerous UV rays of the sun. My favorite BB Cream is by Maybelline. They have all different types of BB Creams to match your personal needs based on your skin type. The one I have been using for the summer is Bronze BB Cream because it gives that “sunkissed glow” that I love for the summer. This product can found at your local drugstore.
- Pore Minimizer: The purpose of a pore minimizer is to do exactly what it sounds like, minimize or blur your pores. Those with acne prone skin, this product should really be a part of your beauty routine. Why? because it help keep your pores from being clogged with your various makeup products. It makes your skin more smooth, which calls for a smooth application for the rest of your products. The pore eraser that I have been giving a try recently is also by Maybelline. Although, it does feel a little oily when applying it, it does not finish that way. It definitely gets the job done. I bought the Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser from my local drugstore.
- Setting Spray: One of the most important steps of your makeup routine is setting your makeup with a spray. The best setting spray for summer is one that is NOT mattifying. Try a setting spray that gives you a dewy feeling because even if you are sweating a little bit it would look like it is apart of your look. The dewy finish kind of gives you a glowing finish. Recently, I have been trying the Dewy Finish setting spray by NYX. It gives a glow that will last all day. This too can be found at your local drugstore.
Most of the beauty buys can be found at your local drugstore such as Target or Walgreens. Let me know in the comments if you give them a try and how you like them.
